Valentine's Day Blog Hop - Feb. 9, 2013

Thanks for hopping along for the Valentine's Day Blog Hop. If you did not start at the beginning, please go to Suzanne's blog. You don't want to miss a thing. If you came to my blog from Robin, then you are in the right place.

This hop was a bit of a challenge in that we weren't supposed to use any pink or red in our projects. I thought that would be simple, but I promise, I struggled with this so much! I wanted to add red soooo bad! :) I challenge all of you to create a Valentine's theme project without traditional colors as well.

I made a card with a black, white, and gray/silver scheme. This color combo always has a romantic/sophisticated feel to me. It is a standard A2 sized card, with a standard sized layer. I used a Fiskars scalloped heart punch to punch out seven (or eight) hearts out of a coordinating sheet of paper. I used foam squares to adhere two of the three hearts, and the one in the middle has dimension all on it's own. I used one heart as the base, and used the rest folded in half and glued together to give it a "bubble" type of shape. I hope that makes sense.

To finish it off, I stamped "be mine" using alphabet stamps from Close To My Heart, and colored the letters of "Valentine" with a silver sharpie. The letters were canvas, so they have a bit of texture, which is nice. I then tied some silver ribbon into a bow, and called this project done. I hope you enjoy what I have created.

Now, for some bloggy candy. The grand prize (pictured below) is being sponsored by Zannie Berry Scrapbooking. All you have to do to be eligible to win this prize, is to leave a comment on each of the blogs. Simple as that! Of course, we would LOVE it if you also became a follower. Hope you enjoy the rest of the hop.
