"Bling In The New Year" Blog Hop - 2013

Happy new year, everyone! I am very excited to see where life takes me creatively this year. I truly hope 2013 brings all the health and happiness you desire. Let's get down to business.

If you would like to start at the beginning of the Bling In The New Year hop (please do!) then click here. Otherwise, you should have  arrived from the lovely Vanessa's blog. I am the last stop on the hop, so if you have made it this far, thank you for stopping by! :)

There is a grand prize sponsored by Zannie Berry scrapbooking. This prize will be drawn on Monday using the random number generator. In order to qualify for the prize, please leave a comment on each of the blogs in the hop, AND become a follower. There's only 7, so this task is definitely doable. Make sure you stop by her blog sometime on Monday to see if you've won!

Here is the prize:

In case you got lost along the way, or you just want to see a specific  project again, here is the entire line up:
1. Suzanne - www.zannieberry.blogspot.com <-- Start here.

6. Vanessa http://wwwpaperkraftsunlimiteddesings.blogspot.com <-- You should have come from here.
7. Melissa http://papershenaniganz.blogspot.com/ <-- You are here.

Let me just be honest. I struggle with the concept of bling, and I have no idea why. Having things be all blingy is totally not my "style."

For my project, I decided to make a mini album using this tutorial on Youtube. I won't bore you with all the details, because I don't think I can explain it any better than she does in the video. Essentially, for the basics, you need 3 12 by 12 sheets of cardstock, plus more if you want to go decorating crazy. It's really so super simple, but the results are fabulous! I fail as a photographer, though. Royally.

My project is what I would like to call sophisticated bling. Hey, I might have started something new, there! Should I copyright it? :P jk :)

Just in case you were wondering, all the papers I used are from Close To My Heart's Avonlea collection.

Here are some pictures of the inside. It's a flip and fold, so there's really no "right" way to flip or fold. :)

Please let me know if you try making one of these albums. I would love to see it.
